Dear readers,
welcome to the final edition of the B-Ferst newsletter!
After five years of collaborative research, innovation, and dedication, the B-Ferst project has reached its conclusion. It has been an incredible journey, one that not only showcased the power of innovation in sustainable agriculture but also laid the groundwork for a greener and more circular economy in Europe.
Throughout this project, we have made significant strides towards enhancing the sustainability of European farming by developing eight biobased fertilisers. These have undergone rigorous validation in the fourth campaign of field trials, demonstrating their potential to contribute to more eco-friendly agricultural practices. The completion of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) further highlights the project’s commitment to evaluating the environmental impacts of our solutions.
Another major milestone has been the successful completion of two demonstration plants in Huelva, Spain. These facilities, dedicated to bio-waste treatment and bio-coating, are proofs of the project’s impact, transforming waste into valuable resources that will continue to benefit the agricultural sector.
An important conclusive moment for B-Ferst was the final event in Brussels, where project partners, representatives from CBE JU, industry experts, and key stakeholders gathered to celebrate the project’s accomplishments. This event provided a unique platform for knowledge exchange and strengthened connections with sister projects. The insights and discussions at this event reaffirmed our project’s lasting contribution to sustainable farming practices and circular economy goals.
As we close this chapter, we invite you to explore B-Ferst’s legacy through our final video and brochure, where we present the full scope of the project’s achievements and its forward-thinking solutions.
It has been a privilege to lead this project and to witness the collective effort of partners, stakeholders, and the broader community. Together, we have contributed to the European Union’s mission to make farming more sustainable, resilient, and eco-friendly. Thank you to everyone who played a part in this transformative journey.
